In my pregnancy I discovered several things:
- Pregnancy is weird.
- People don't tell you what will happen to you - at least not with the kind of blunt honesty that you need in order to really know what will happen to you for nine months.
- Pregnancy is really weird.
- The easiest way for me to figure out my own experience in pregnancy was the write about it.
- Being pregnant is waaaaay too close to an Aliens movie.
- Did I mention pregnancy is weird?!?!
Now that I'm a mom, I've discovered even more things:
- Parenthood is much more awesome than people can possibly communicate (though we all try).
- I have some seriously strong opinions about babycare, motherhood, and the family unit (Such a surprise!).
- I'm never going to get a full night's sleep ever again.
- There's a conspiracy to hide what happens to women after childbirth.
- Babies are hilarious.
- Kiddo (my sweet boy) is truly a bundle of joy...and sweetness and contentment and distress...all at once.
This blog is not meant to take the place of medical advice or care. I am not a doctor. I am not a nurse. I'm just a lady with Hermione Granger like research tendencies and a penchant for committing words to a blog. I like writing about my own experience, which will DEFINITELY be different than yours. Hopefully it makes you laugh. It might make you cry (well, especially if you're hormonal...which...you could be.). It might make you pissed off - in which case, sorry? but too bad. Whatever the case, I hope you enjoy it and it makes your life richer because you spent the time reading my pregnancy/parenting discoveries.
